Thanksgiving is just about here and Christmas is sneaking up on us. We all love the time with family and friends. I especially enjoy cooking the meals and finding fun things to share with them. Why don't we share some recipes with each other. Find your favorite recipe and either give it to me at church or email it to me at dorthyharris15@cox.net and I'll post them so we can all share them. Who knows, we might find ourselves a brand new family favorite. Here is a recipe for a cookie I like, and it is usually Jim's favorite:
Skillet Cookies
1 cup chopped dates
3/4 stick of margarine
2 eggs beaten till foamy
1 cup Rice Krispies
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts
1 package of coconut
Melt margarine in skillet. Add sugar, dates and eggs. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. When it is cooked, remove from heat, fold in nuts and Rice Krispies and vanilla. Let it cool, then drop it by teaspoons on coconut on was paper. Roll in coconut and set aside to cool on waxed paper.
Enjoy!
